Sofa:

• Sectional Sofa (128"w sofa side x 90"w chase side 38"d x 34"h)
• Frame: Kiln dried solid N American hardwoods with dowels and corner blocks.
• Cushions: No sag High Resiliency Foam Cores surrounded by Dacron Ticking.
• Batting: Three layer of poly-foam, wrapped in fibers and feathers encased in muslin.

Leather Grade: Aniline Dye FULL GRAIN LEATHER:

• Just as the grain, texture and markings of wood should reveal the nature of the tree from which it came, leather should display the natural markings and grain characteristics of the animal from which it was taken.
• The best upholstery leathers are clear, and supple. They are also dyed through with transparent aniline dyes.
• The full natural grain is retained and they are called "full grain leather."
• Cheaper leather have the natural or genuine grain sanded away and an imitation grain pressed or embossed into the surface.
• They are stiff and "boardy" with a heavy coating of pigmentation to cover up imperfections and they look and feel much like plastic.
• The better the quality of hide or skin, the less it has to be treated.
• The natural grain variations should be exposed.
• One should see the "fat wrinkles" and the feel, or hand, should be supple and natural to the touch.
• Full grain leather is the best quality!

Myths about Leather:

• Top Grain Leather: ( do not confuse with Full Grain or Full top grain )
• The most confusing term used in the furniture industry is the term "top grain".
• It can be a contradiction because it often implies what it is not. "Top grain", is the definition that is generally used when the grain is not genuine: when the real grain is sanded away and an imitation grain is stamped into the leather.
• When the genuine grain remains, the leather is called, "full grain", or "full top grain", NOT "top grain."
• Top grain is a generally regarded as a economy leather!

Quality:

• The construction technique includes selected hardwood lumber frames with reinforcements at strategic stress points, high resilience cushions and the finest spring construction.
• This technique is traditionally viewed as the best for long lasting comfort.
• Our seat cushions are constructed from three layers of poly-foam, wrapped in fibers and feather (depending upon style) and then encased in muslin.
• While more conventional than an attached cushion ... and also more costly ... seating comfort is greatly augmented. Backs are filled and muslin-encased, then inserted through a zippered opening.

Warranty:

• The limited lifetime warranty from the manufacturer is the result of their conviction about the durability of the product.
• Compare this to the standard 1-5-year warranty of most manufacturers.
• This warranty in total is scope. It covers the frame, the padding, the cushions and even the leather itself against color transfer, against finish cracking and peeling.
